I had never heard of Matt Pond PA until I saw a reference to it on Crooks and Liars (a great site, BTW).  I liked the artwork and it stuck in my mind for a couple of months.  On impulse I bought the CD and am glad I did.  Apparently, these guys have been around for a while and you can find a bunch of their albums on emusic if you are a subscriber.  Okay, so it's a tad on the emo side--not that there's anything wrong with that!  However, the songs are well-wrought and catchy, the lyrics are interesting and evocative and the production values are great.  If you are looking for some hook-laden contemporary indie pop, you could do worse.
